After playing NFC for awhile, and watching the New Frontier Cast podcast, I got some ideas for NFC.
1: Wood/Copper buckets. Just a low level bucket to carry water before you can get iron would be nice.
2: A point system was discussed in the podcast, along with item loss, and I have an idea of how that would work with difficulty.
Peaceful: No loss.
Easy: 10-25% point loss.
Normal: Drop items, 50-75% point loss.
Hard: Drop items, chance to lose your items (2-5% per item maybe?), 100% point loss.
3: An even harder difficulty mode, with permadeath. Think modern MC's hardcore, but perhaps even harder.
4: Redstone gates as single blocks. Think redpower.
4.5: The stuff from the redstone update, 1.5. And maybe a filter and upwards hopper.
5: A Dynamic Armor bar to show your defense. It grows and shrinks depending on your defense.
6: Accessories. Think Terraria, or The Aether.
7: More achievements, possibly including the fitting ones from modern MC.
7.5: Achievements without a required order.
8: Fixed mine speeds for things like brick furnaces and craft benches.
8.5: If you mine something and your pick breaks, you lose what you were mining. Please, remove that bug.
9: In the upcoming farming update, it would be interesting if you could fix up the hunger bar from b1.8, perhaps by adding a large variety of foods, with raw food restoring very little. I think Pam's harvestcraft did this idea well.
9.5: If not a hunger bar, maybe a nerf to food would be good. I mostly think it is too easy to heal up on food in b1.7.
