NFC Installer Guide:
(Recommended for normal gameplay)
Part 1: Downloading Java
If you already have Java, you can skip this step.
- Go to this website: www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
- Download the one for your operating system. (If you're on Windows, you want the 'Offline (64-bit)' version.
Part 2: Using the installer
- Download this jar file here: cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/504856228569022478/732297350139084831/NFCInstaller1.5.jar
- If you haven't already, open the Mojang launcher, run version Beta 1.7.3 once, then close it and the launcher. (If it's not there, enable historical versions)
- Run the jar file and click the button labelled 'Install'.
If it throws an error, try deleting the b1.7.3 instance in the instances folder, running the Beta 1.7.3 instance from the Vanilla launcher to reinstall it, deleting the NFCinstaller folder in the .minecraft folder, and then running the installer again.
If it works, open the Mojang launcher, (restart it if it was already open), create a profile with the new instance, and enjoy NFC!
Note: Profile creation will be automated in future versions of the installer

MineOnline Launcher
(Recommended for ease of use)
No guide needed for this one. Download it from here github.com/codieradical/MineOnline/releases
Simply launch it, select NFC either from the singleplayer screen to launch it in singleplayer, or multiplayer to launch directly into the official server. It'll download all the needed files and launch you straight into the game.
MultiMC Guide:
(Recommended for ease of addon installation)
Part 1: Setting up MultiMC
If you already have MultiMC for your given OS, you can skip this step
- Go to this website multimc.org/
- Choose the download for your operating system, extract the archive to a new folder and run MultiMC. If you’re using Linux, remember to make it executable before you try to run it. If you're using Mac, just drag it to your apps directory. And if you're using ChromeOS, follow the guide here for installing MultiMC with Crostini. You can choose the development version, it usually has extra fixes and features included, but may not be stable yet.
- Choose your preferred language.
- Select the Java version you want to use for Minecraft. The option marked with an asterisk is recommended.
- Set the memory allocation options for Java.
- Complete the MultiMC installation.
Part 2: Installing the NFC Instance
Download this file: www.mediafire.com/file/l18ro2i3id2dvc6/NFC_1.8.7_02.zip/file
Temporary Note: Rename the “cat.ogg” file in the “.minecraft/resources/streaming” folder to “Cat.ogg”. Otherwise, it won't play.
Part 2.5: The Essentials Pack
An alternative to just the MultiMC instance for standalone New Frontier Craft is to use our brand new Essentials Pack. This includes not just NFC, but lots of other addons and tweaks that've been developed over the year that this version has been out. This includes things such as...
How Many Items, BetaTweaks, Waila, Texturepack Language Loading, Modern Tree Rendering, Advanced Tooltip Support, and tweaks to bring the version up to compliance with our new naming scheme (v3.3.2 as opposed to NFC 1.8.7_02).
Alongside that, also included are up to date versions of the majority of texturepacks which currently exist for New Frontier Craft as of February 22nd, 2021.
We heavily recommend if you're at all interested in extra features for NFC that you give this MultiMC instance a try. If you don't like a certain feature in the Essentials pack, just uncheck it from the Version tab of the Window and you don't have to use it.
Part 3: Launching MultiMC From the Desktop (Optional)
The MultiMC '--launch <instance ID> (-l <instance ID>)' command line argument allows you to launch the instance without opening the main MultiMC window. The Instance ID is the name of the instance folder in the “instances” folder. If it contains spaces, specify the ID in quotation marks. For example, if you’re using Windows and your instance ID is “NFC 1.8.7_02”, you can create a shortcut to MultiMC.exe and add a option: MultiMC.exe -l "NFC 1.8.7_02". Using this shortcut, you can quickly launch NFC.
