General Overview
New Frontier Craft 1.8.1 was released on December 10th, 2014. Under the current version scheme, this version is known as v2.1.0. This update is largely just a set of fixes on top of the more major update preceding it by a few months, NFC 1.8.0, which added the first versions of the alloy system and the Tier System
There are several things different between this first big update to NFC and the current version.
- The tiers are much less cleanly organized, resulting in much more complex system than the one we currently use.
- Alloys are cooked in the furnace and fused together via crafting recipes, rather than handling both at once via the later added Brick Oven
- All ores are much more rare, but spawn in much larger veins, similar to how iron currently works in NFC
- Cheese, instead of being created by cooking a milk bucket, is acquired through "Cheese Ore", which you can find mining underground
Beyond that, there are many other smalls tweaks that've been made to NFC over the years that this version doesn't have, resulting in an experience far more similar to that of Vanilla Beta 1.7.3.
