Not relevant for v3.4 and newer versions. Full Cyrillic support has already been added in v3.4.0.
Installation for the client: add all from zip to jar.
If you use a texturepack with a incompatible font, you will have to remove the font folder from texturepack you use.

Installation for the server: add font.txt from zip to jar.
Adds Cyrillic letters of the Russian, Ukrainian, Belarusian and Mongolian alphabets to the font.
Server without modified font.txt will kick you for sending Cyrillic letters (and grave) to the chat. Cyrillic on signs of such a server just won’t be saved. Cyrillic is allowed everywhere in books, but only players with JalC can see it, of course.
You can use this font to create a translation of splashes.txt just using Cyrillic. To translate .lang files, use www.itpro.cz/juniconv/ to convert Cyrillic to UTF-16.
